Purses for a Purpose
Nurses With Heart is excited to announce that we are partnering with Casa Familia to collect purses and feminine hygiene products for women in need in Santa Fe. Casa Familia provides emergency shelter, meals, showers, laundry, clothing, and supplies for women and families in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With 18 Beds for single women and 5 rooms for families with children, they provide a positive and safe environment for those in need and looking to restructure their lives.
Susan B. Anthony once said, “Every woman should have a purse of her own.”. While not referring to the need for being fashionable, this highlighted the necessity for women to have the ability to earn their own money and keep their own property. Caring for oneself starts with the basics of hygiene, and many women have little access to feminine products. What better way to celebrate Women’s History Month than by supporting our local women in the spirit of Susan B. Anthony!
So bring your new or gently used purses filled with hygiene products to Nurses With Heart Home Care. All donations will be brought to Casa Familia at the end of March.
