Calling All Santa Fe Super Heroes!
Nurses With Heart Home Care and the Santa Fe Business Incubator will be hosting a blood drive in partnership with United Blood Services on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 12pm to 4pm. The drive will be held at 3900 Paseo Del Sol, Santa Fe NM.
Blood transfusions save more than 4 million lives each year. It is estimated that blood is needed every two seconds, and that 1 out of 7 people entering the hospital will need blood. Since blood cannot be manufactured or harvested, it can only come from Heroes like YOU – the volunteer blood donor!
Anyone who is at least 16 years old, weighs a minimum of 110 lbs. and is in generally good health can donate blood. All donors must pass the vital signs and health history examinations given prior to donation. The entire process takes about an hour and all blood types are needed. Donors should bring a photo ID.
United Blood Services is an independent, nonprofit community-based blood center providing blood and blood products for local area hospitals throughout the United States. It is committed to saving patients’ lives by providing blood products, medical expertise and scientific discovery.
