Challenging Changes in Behavior
Nurses With Heart is excited to add another home health hint to our video blog – every week we will be posting a short video related to staying safe and healthy at home. This week we discuss three ways to cope with sudden changes in behavior with regards to fear, anxiety, and anger.
When people are ill, dealing with pain, or experiencing disease process (such as dementia) they may not act like themselves. As we talked about in previous weeks, it is important to be patient when working with individuals with dementia, as they can easily become anxious which can be expressed as anger. In the video below, we discuss three ways to manage these sudden and sometimes surprising behavioral changes.
