Decisions About Driving
Nurses With Heart is excited to add another home health hint to our video blog – every week we will be posting a short video related to staying safe and healthy at home. In previous weeks we have covered everything from hydration to how to start home care. This week we discuss how to gauge the time and what to do when your loved one should no longer be driving.
A common question among families is when should their elderly family members stop driving. As we age, our reflexes slow, and different diseases and medication can have an impact on the ability to process situations quickly. There are a variety of things to look for when making this difficult choice and many organizations to support you in this decision. Watch the video below for indicators on when someone should turn over the keys as well as resources to refer to for more help.
Thanks for watching!
