Our caregivers are the cornerstone of Nurses With Heart. Their smiles, enthusiasm and genuine engagement with their work – that’s what sets the tone at the start of a shift, and it’s what our clients tell us adds a spark to their day. When people ask what it means to be a caregiver “with heart,” we tell them to just look at our staff members. You can’t fake heart, and you certainly can’t ignore it either. Happy caregivers radiate positive energy.
What makes our caregivers so inspired? We think it comes from our best-in-class training model – which allows our employees to grow on the job with our guidance and encouragement. Their zeal challenges us to keep upgrading our in-house training, and it also delights many of our clients.
Then there’s our “matchmaking-based approach” to care, which puts careful thought into pairing clients and caregivers based on shared commonalities. Friendships develop in many cases, providing emotional benefits for both parties. We also work hard to keep our staff safe with home risk assessments, smoke-free environments and 24/7 support. For all these reasons, we are proud to report that our employee retention and client satisfaction rates are very high.
It goes without saying, however, that our fully insured and bonded caregivers must first be qualified. Nurses With Heart hires only Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) to perform nursing services, while we hire Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), nursing school students and others with relevant health care experience for our home care services. As a state-licensed agency, our new hires must also pass nationwide background and criminal checks and other hiring requirements, as well as a few extra requirements of our own.
